Giorgetti – A design story

A leader in contemporary design with distinct style, combining the highest levels of artisanship and woodworking heritage with cutting-edge product technology.

Giorgetti Meda is well-known for merging together maximum quality, aesthetic innovation, manufacture, design, engineering, and production capabilities. The result is a wide variety of furnishing solutions, ornamental complements, and much more.

The origins of Giorgetti

In 1898, Luigi Giorgetti opened a small business with around 8 employees in Meda. To describe the narrative of Giorgetti is to tell the story of Meda, Brianza’s heart, in terms of economics and evolution.

With a history spanning over a century, the company is, in fact, the product of reality in a region renowned for work and enterprise. In Meda, artisan activity began in the countryside, due to farmers who supplemented their income by making labor equipment and furniture.

Giorgetti continued to rework and manufacture classic models while keeping the highest level of craftsmanship.

Gazebo, the first contemporary collection, was launched in 1970, after kicking off a significant period of industrialization and manufacturing innovation. In 1975, was launched the Gallery series, influenced by early 1900s models but with modern designs. The distribution is concentrated on a national and worldwide level. This success was then followed by the Progetti line, an iconic set of armchairs and couches – with a distinctive handle in Pau Ferro wood inspired by an old walking staff -, launched in 1987 by the Giorgetti R&D Center.

But the real turning point arrived in 1990 when Giorgetti began working with architects, city planners, and intellectuals who have never before designed furniture. As proof of his creativity, he preferred to work with experts rather than designers, in order to understand and fulfill the Italian heritage of “fine drawing.” This trend can also be seen in the institutional activity and cultural program Giorgetti carried out through exhibits and publications.

In recent years, goods tailored to executive offices, unique solutions, and contract projects have emerged. The GK.01, Giorgetti’s first kitchen, and Giorgetti Atmosphere, the first collection of furnishing accessories, were shown at the Salone del Mobile in Milano in 2016.

Today, Giorgetti’s distinct and instantly recognizable style is well-known across the world.
