Cassina Outdoor 2026

A design story shaped by memory, nature, and contemporaneity

For over ninety years, Cassina has stood as one of the foremost references in both Italian and international design. A brand that has built its identity through a constant dialogue between innovation, research, and design culture, collaborating with some of the most important figures in twentieth-century architecture and design.

Today, this vision continues to evolve through the Cassina Outdoor collection, a project that interprets outdoor spaces not as mere complementary areas of the home, but as environments to be experienced with the same care, quality, and sensitivity devoted to interiors.

The new Cassina Outdoor Collection 2026, previewed during Milan Design Week, took centre stage in the exclusive “Oasis of Now” event on 19 June at the Forte in by Interni now showroom in Forte dei Marmi, telling a story shaped by memory, innovation, and the desire to slow down.

From indoors to outdoors:
the evolution of contemporary living

In recent years, the concept of outdoor living has taken on an increasingly central role in the world of design. Terraces, gardens, loggias, and open-air spaces have become places for gathering, relaxation, and conviviality, capable of extending the living experience beyond the traditional boundaries of architecture.

Cassina has interpreted this evolution by developing an outdoor collection that preserves the brand’s defining values: design excellence, material quality, attention to detail and a cultural vision of design.

The goal is not simply to furnish an outdoor space, but to create places where architecture, nature, and wellbeing can coexist in perfect balance.

Oasis of Now: the luxury of rediscovered time

For 2026, Cassina presents Oasis of Now, a concept that goes beyond the product and becomes a true philosophy of living.

In an era marked by ever-faster rhythms and constant overstimulation, the new collection invites us to rediscover the value of the present moment. Outdoor spaces are imagined as places of authentic connection with the surrounding environment.

Forms become softer, proportions more relaxed, materials more tactile. Every element contributes to creating an atmosphere of calm and harmony, in which design does not impose its presence but accompanies the experience.

It is a deeply Italian vision, reflected in the idea of vita lenta—a way of living shaped by spontaneous conviviality, natural light, and a direct relationship with the landscape.

A return to the origins of Italian design

One of the most interesting aspects of the Outdoor Collection 2026 is the ongoing dialogue between present and memory.

While many companies choose to look to the future through formal innovation, Cassina rediscovers the value of its own cultural and design heritage. This is not about nostalgia, but rather a contemporary reinterpretation of the legacy of the great masters who helped define the history of Italian design.

The influence of Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Vico Magistretti, and Gaetano Pesce emerges in the pursuit of essentiality, the purity of proportions, and the ability to create objects destined to endure over time.

The new collection demonstrates that great projects never belong exclusively to the past. They continue to evolve, engage with new needs, and inspire new ways of contemporary living.

The new collections: between reinterpretation and innovation

Within the new outdoor proposal, different visions coexist, united by a shared pursuit of authenticity and design quality.

The Vidalenta collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola, interprets outdoor living as a space of informal yet sophisticated hospitality. Enveloping seating, generous volumes, and a soft design language create environments that invite sociability and relaxation.

With Eloro Outdoor, Rodolfo Dordoni brings one of the most appreciated collections in the Cassina universe outdoors. Essential lines and a refined attention to proportion give rise to an elegant and versatile system, capable of integrating harmoniously into different architectural contexts.

Alongside the new pieces, important reinterpretations from the Cassina Historical Archive also find their place. Novetrenta Outdoor brings back the extraordinary relevance of Vico Magistretti’s design thinking, demonstrating how simplicity can be a timeless form of innovation.

The Carlotta armchair and side table, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, return to the spotlight through new interpretations dedicated to outdoor spaces. Their original forms are enhanced by contemporary finishes and materials that highlight their iconic character without altering their identity.

Among the most significant presences is also Dalila, Gaetano Pesce’s project, which brings the expressive force of one of the most visionary masters of contemporary design into the outdoor universe. A seat that stands at the boundary between art, design, and experimentation, confirming Cassina’s ability to preserve and reinterpret its cultural heritage.

Retro fabrics and colours that tell a story

If design recovers the memory of the great masters, textile research follows a parallel path.

The new colour palettes are inspired by imagery that recalls Italian summers of the 1960s and 1970s. Sage greens, deep blues, dusty yellows, sun-softened reds, and natural tones create an elegant and relaxed chromatic language.

Particularly interesting is the return of stripes, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility yet deeply rooted in Mediterranean tradition. A detail that evokes the charm of historic beach cabins, the outdoor fabrics of seaside villas, and an informal elegance that belongs to the Italian culture of outdoor living.

Looking at some of the collection’s colour combinations, it is natural to think of Wes Anderson’s visual universe. The same balance between nostalgia and contemporaneity, the same almost painterly attention to composition, the same ability to evoke emotion through colour.

Forte dei Marmi: the ideal place to tell the story of outdoor living

The decision to present the new Cassina Outdoor Collection at our Forte in by Interni now showroom in Forte dei Marmi was far from accidental.

Versilia has long been one of the symbolic places of Italian elegance and the culture of outdoor living. Here, the relationship between architecture and landscape is natural, spontaneous, almost inevitable. Gardens become extensions of the home, terraces are transformed into open-air living rooms, and nature becomes part of everyday experience.

The new Cassina collections seem to engage perfectly with this context. The colours, fabrics, materials, and proportions all evoke that idea of discreet, refined luxury that has always characterised Forte dei Marmi and the Tuscan coast.

In this sense, the setting is not merely a backdrop, but becomes an integral part of the design narrative.

At the Interni now showroom in Forte dei Marmi, it is possible to discover the new Cassina Outdoor collections up close, explore materials and finishes, learn about the possibilities for customisation, and be inspired by a new way of experiencing open-air spaces.
