Baxter – A design story

Baxter is one of those firms proud of the Italian heritage in which they are rooted, but with, at the same time, an international approach to design. Today, we have to thank Luigi Bestetti and his nephew Paolo for having had the intuition of establishing this reality of Lurago d’Erba, in the province of Como.

The origins of the Brand

Baxter is one of the most unique businesses in the Italian interiors industry, specializing in premium leathers.

Its history is as fascinating as its creative outputs. The brand, in fact, was founded as a symbol of Italian quality in 1990 in the heart of Brianza’s furniture-making region. In Lurago d’Erba, where old artisan tradition meets highly specialized local crafts, the family-run business realized its full potential.

Until today, the company is still focused on the quality of the materials used, striving for ultimate excellence in order to offer design items with great emotional appeal in terms of aesthetics, shape, and function. Saddle leather coming from the traditional tanneries of Toscana and Veneto, is the ultimate star of Baxter’s manufacturing.

The value and core business

Baxter is the result of a passion that evolved into a business concept centered on experimenting and working with a single material – leather – to make high-quality items throughout time. To that aim, Baxter has since ever benefited from the participation of expert leatherworkers who devote their talents to the production of one-of-a-kind collections and support the company in its research and development of innovative interior décor solutions. Ideas and styles merge together in a catalogue of colors and finishes that is always evolving and perfecting.

Baxter created traditional, but with carefully studied, beautiful details that characterized the brand’s quality and durability. The brand’s current approach is virtually self-referential. Each collection’s pieces are among the result of the knowledge that digs into the depths of history, into the demands of clients and end-users, and into a spirit of inquiry that drives Baxter to create something personal and instantly recognizable. The company is known for its multi-faceted approach to design, trends, and new ideas.
