There are design pieces that adapt perfectly to any home and style: they are timeless, refined and premium quality. These icons tell the story of the designer who conceived them and of the brand that created them: a fundamental collaboration to convert creative talent into valuable projects; a mix of ingenuity and made in Italy production that acts as a trait d’union from setting to setting.
And so we can mention Cassina, B&B Italia and Baxter … but also Charlotte Perriand, Patricia Urquiola and Studiopepe. All women, for a “special edition” list aimed at celebrating Women’s Day. Continue reading the article and discover the design pieces that have rightfully entered our all-female top 10.
Patricia Urquiola x B&B Italia
Among the most appreciated and desired designers of the moment, Patricia Urquiola boasts collaborations with almost all luxury brands. Her style is unconventional, recognizable and refined and manages to make everything she designs iconic. The perfect mix and match for B&B Italia.
- Canasta: canasta in Spanish means basket. And so Patricia Urquiola and B&B Italia have created a collection of products that recall the handcrafted baskets but alter the proportions, the texture and the design. A perfect example of how to innovate tradition.
- Husk: a diverse and comprehensive range of indoor and outdoor products, all of which are linked by a single common thread: a soft design reminiscent of an embrace, with clean and intricate geometry and lines punctuated by the movement of seams.
- Tufty time: one of B&B Italia’s most enduring successes, the Tufty-Time sofa series, finds excellent solutions to the themes of modularity and comfort. Tufty-Time becomes the gathering place, a welcoming haven in which to luxuriate, in its most emphasized depth. Tufty-Time references the traditional Chesterfield and capitonné typologies with fabric or leather upholstery, modernizing and contaminating them with a freer and more informal lifestyle.
Studiopepe x Baxter
Within the catalog of our brands, Baxter is among those that boast the most female collaborations. Studiopepe is the voice of its founders, Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto, and of a layered and eclectic design language.
The projects that arise from this collaboration are a mix of geometries, colors and materials with a strong contemporary identity.
- Lazybones: lazybones is a chair with armrests in nabuck and with a geometric design. Seat, backrest and feet blend perfectly, giving the whole a solid and compact yet elegant vision. The perfect mix of comfort and aesthetic qualities for your home.
- Say yes: with this pendant lamp your home lights up with art. Its clean lines create an incredible and scenographic effect that gives shape to the light, with a final three-dimensional atmosphere also thanks to the satin aluminum ceiling plate.
- Verre Particulier: series of small tables characterized by particular geometric shapes and the combination of different materials. The result is a versatile and sculptural collection, ideal for those who want to be surrounded by true works of art.
Charlotte Perriand x Cassina
“Charlotte Perriand is a full part of that cultural avant-garde that since the first decades of the twentieth century has promoted a profound renewal of aesthetic values, and has given rise to a properly modern sensibility of everyday life.“
Thus Cassina, a brand in which tradition, experimentation and uniqueness converge, says its designer, and we couldn’t agree more.
- LC7: This modern swivel chair was designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1927 for her Place Saint-Sulpice apartment and has since become a design icon, versatile and functional. Beautiful both for your office or your dining space.
- Paravant Ambassade: This piece is the perfect representation of Charlotte Perriand’s love of Japan and its artisan legacy. It manages to combine functionality and art in a sculptural puzzle that was originally created for the interior decor of an ambassador’s residence.
- Rio: An asymmetrical coffee table, which combines a noteworthy design with maximum functionality and which, over time, has shown how furniture and works of art can merge together. The first design is from 1962, but Cassina has renewed the design to make it the perfect contemporary solution for our living.
Special mention: Le monde de Charlotte Perriand.
This dinner service is the perfect representation of how our work can draw inspiration from our passions. Did you know that Charlotte Perriand, in addition to being a designer, was also a photographer? Cassina and Ginori 1735 engraved motifs inspired by her photos on the porcelain, creating a handmade collection with an incredible design.
