Care for well-being through design aims to create environments that support people’s health and lifestyle, making spaces more comfortable, welcoming, and suitable for individual needs. This approach considers the physical environment and its influences on people, both physically and mentally, and seeks to optimize spaces to promote health and well-being.
Curious to know how? Read on and discover some ways design can contribute to wellness.
Light and layout
Adding windows, skylights, and large spaces within the home walls (but also in hospitality and commercial structures) allows to maximize the entry of natural light, improving mood and promoting a sense of connection with the environment that you live. Furthermore, good space design can influence the way in which you move and interact with the surrounding environment: a layout that encourages movement, socialization and free circulation also has a positive impact on physical and mental well-being.
Colors and materials
The choice of colors and finishes can influence the mood and perception of spaces. For example, warm, soothing colors can promote tranquility and calm, while bright colors can increase energy and vitality. The reference to natural materials such as wood or marble and the inclusion of plants and greenery elevates and increases the well-being effect even further. In general, a space made of “living” elements and materials is a more welcoming space to live in.
“Zen” furnishing ideas
Last, but certainly not least … functional furnishings!
After natural light, after warm colors, after wood and greenery, what can enhance the sense of well-being within a space? To maximize well-being and relaxation in luxury homes, it is important to choose furnishing elements that offer high-level comfort, aesthetics, and functionality. Among all, 3 are the “furnishing” proposals linked to those activities that are naturally an important source of relaxation: swimming pool, spa and gym. Here are some suggestions.
Pool… or bathtub
Houses with swimming pools are par excellence an oasis of domestic relaxation. These houses, however, are not just those with a large swimming pool, which – we bet – come to mind for most people when talking about this type of residence. A heated mini-pool with hydromassage, or a multi-jet emotional shower with personalized lighting, can become the center of relaxation within the home nest, on a par – if not more – than the more traditional villas carved into the collective imagination. Don’t you believe it? Discover Waterdream by Effegibi and Acquamoon by Dornbracht, two perfect examples of mini-pools and emotional showers capable of creating a private corner of paradise in high-end homes.
Private spa
A private spa with a sauna and steam room can offer a total relaxation experience without having to leave your home. High-quality materials such as marble, fine wood and customizable lights can create an atmosphere of luxury and tranquility. Effegibi offers the perfect solution with its Bodylove SH: a modular system consisting of shower, sauna and Turkish bath conceived and designed, as the brand itself says, to be versatile, prestigious, functional, and elegant. For us Bodylove SH can be summed up in just one adjective: indispensable!
Private gym
A private gym filled with high-quality fitness equipment allows to stay fit and enjoy personalized workouts without having to leave home. The wall mirrors and wooden or rubber floors make the environment comparable to those of an ad hoc structure, but the touch of luxury and additional comfort is offered by Poltrona Frau, with its fitness collection created in collaboration with Giobagnara. A mix of two companies that carry the flag of Made in Italy excellence high and that, together, have created a series that is “a hymn to physical well-being, a range of tools in which style and innovation come together, guaranteeing unparalleled well-being experience”.
