FUM Academy: Learning The Art Of Marble In Carrara

Carrara is universally recognized as the marble capital of the world, a material that has spanned the centuries while maintaining its intact charm. With its unique veining and extraordinary resistance, Carrara marble has been chosen to decorate palaces, sculptures, and luxurious interiors, becoming synonymous with timeless elegance. From Michelangelo to the most innovative contemporary architects, this natural stone plays a leading role in design and architecture.

Today this tradition merges with high level training thanks to the FUM Academy, a project born from the collaboration between Interni now and Franchi Umberto Marmi.
On February 7, 2025, our showroom in Via del Bravo in Carrara hosted the inauguration of the new space dedicated to the Marble Academy, a place designed to deepen the knowledge of marble and its multiple applications in the world of architecture and design, thanks to an innovative material library consisting of over 70 samples of different types of marble.

Opening this training course architect Giuseppe Zampieri of David Chipperfield Architects, who gave the first lecture in front of the international students of the Master in Architecture for Landscape by YACademy of Bologna, a partner of the FUM Academy. An event that also marked the presentation of the Master in Spiritual Architecture, a program that explores the profound connection between architecture, materiality, and spirituality.

Testifying the global reach of this initiative is the participation of students from 15 different countries, including Bahrain, Jordan, Argentina, Italy, the United States, and China. A unique opportunity to discover Carrara marble up close, study its applications, and understand its role increasingly central to contemporary design.

But this is just the beginning of a new adventure for Interni now group. After our recent arrival in the heart of the Middle East in Dubai in 2024, and the opening of the new Poltrona Frau monobrand center in Carrara, we have decided to dedicate part of our space to new talents and professionals in the sector. A commitment that finds solid grounding in the collaboration with Franchi Umberto Marmi, to spread culture and knowledge of one of the most extraordinary materials in the world.
