The project resulted from the restyling carried out by Studio Viviani (Arch. Stefano Viviani, Interior Designer Paolo Dovichi).
The penthouse is located in Marina di Carrara, an open and convivial space in which to gather in every season, surrounded by designer furnishings and carefully selected works of art. A perfect mix of design and art from all over the world, enhanced by the custom designs of the lacquered wood paneling and wallpapers by Elitis and Dedar that envelop the apartment.
The design concept stems from the need to maintain constant visual contact with the sea, breaking down all kinds of “visual barriers” and creating a fluid open space in which rooms are in continuous communication with each other. Light partitions separate the functions of the spaces, such as wire mesh attached to the ceiling and glass inserts in the walls.
For the furniture designer brands were paired with reimagined vintage furniture and furnishings, giving them a new life. For example, in the dining room, Poltrona Frau‘s Bolero Ravel table in marble and Canaletto walnut was enhanced and enriched by vintage chairs completely upholstered in velvet. The dining area is outlined by the lightweight custom copper wire mesh.
The same concept was applied to the lighting, with iconic designer lamps such as Flos, Martinelli Luce, and Artemide combining with vintage lamps found in various corners of the project. A perfect fusion of modernity icons, contemporary art and vintage pieces, creating a tastefully connoted penthouse that perfectly matches its surroundings.
